Students graduating from Holy
Spirit Preparatory School are not only well prepared to take
their place in the community as Christian leaders, but have the
competitive advantage that a rigorous college preparatory
education brings to students embarking on the college
application process.
School Service Program
Holy Spirit Preparatory School seeks to develop the students
into productive, caring, and active members of the Church and
the world who influence society in a meaningfully positive way.
To achieve this end, Holy Spirit Preparatory School has
established a Service Hours requirement for graduation that
builds from the 7th grade year until the senior year. Each
grade has assigned duties that contribute to the upkeep of the
school. Students in grades 9-12 are required to complete a
total of 60 hours in school service roles, including, but not
limited to, jobs such as Teacher’s Assistant, Café Manager,
School Store Clerk, Laboratory Assistant, Technology Help Desk
Staff, and Sports Instructor.
Community Service Programs
The Department of Campus Ministries works with all Upper School
students to help develop their habits of self-giving and to
strengthen their lives of faith. In line with Holy Spirit
Preparatory School’s motto,
To Serve,
Not To Be Served, the
School aims to follow Christ’s example by reaching out to our
community. Each student submits a project proposal to the
Department of Campus Ministries and after approval each student
must complete between 10 to 30 community service hours per
year. Projects include, but are not limited to, Project
Literacy, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, St. Vincent de Paul,
Habitat for Humanity, and Catechism Class volunteerism.
Extracurricular Activities
Each Upper School student is expected to contribute to the life
of the school through participation in at least one of the many
athletic programs or club-related activities offered. Such
activities include, but are not limited to: Football,
Cheerleading, Soccer, Swimming, Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis,
Golf, Baseball, Softball, Latin Club, Ceramics, Chess Club,
Drama Club, Photography Club, Astronomy Club, Constitutional Law Club,
Film Club, Xavier Club, Table Tennis Club, Tea Club, Joint
Forces Corp of Cadets, and the Sailing Club.
Financial Aid
For the 2008-2009 school year Holy Spirit Preparatory School has
provided approaching $2,000,000 in need based financial aid,
scholarships and tuition remission to students ensuring an
economically diverse student body.
COLLEGE LEVEL
COURSES and AP
Holy Spirit Preparatory
School offers College Level (CL) courses that are at an equal or
greater level of rigor to that found in an Advanced Placement
Course (AP), but have a curriculum that may or may not coincide
with the AP curriculum. Holy Spirit Preparatory School limits the range of AP
