Ms. Jessica Askins -
Spanish
Ms. Jessica Askins has a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Auburn University and a Master's degree in Spanish Applied Linguistics from The University of Alabama. Additionally, she is AP certified by the College Board and CELTA certified to teach English to adults. Ms. Askins' teaching experience ranges from 1st grade through the college level. Prior to joining Holy Spirit Prep in 2007, she taught at The University of Alabama, Frederica Academy on St. Simons Island, and at Trinity School. She also taught English, History and Geography in Mexico and Spain. While at Frederica Academy, Ms. Askins developed Hispanic Outreach, an interchange and mentoring program. In 2005, she presented about Bilingual Education at the LAVIS/SECOL conference at the University of Alabama. Ms. Askins currently teaches several levels of Spanish, helps sponsor the Spanish club, and is a mentor for 9th grade girls.
Mrs. Kelly Corsetti
- Upper School Media Specialist; Dean of Girls
Mrs. Kelly Corsetti has a degree in
Library Media Technology from Georgia State
University and a degree in Art Education from
the University of South Florida. Mrs. Corsetti
joined Holy Spirit Prep in 2005 and she has over
eight years of experience in Catholic Education.
Mr.
James Dale - Dean of Instructional Technology; Mathematics and Science
Mr. Dale hails from England where he started his career in information
technology before emigrating to the US in 1981. Over the next 26 years, Mr.
Dale held various positions of Director of Research and Development, Chief
Technology and Information Officer, VP of Product Development, and was the
Managing Director of a General Electric company in Dublin, Ireland.
Mr. Dale focused his early Advanced Level education in the areas of Biology,
Chemistry, Physics and Math, and attended the London Southbank University to
pursue business and computer studies. In 1994, Mr. Dale earned an Executive
MBA degree from the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University,
graduating with Distinction. Mr. Dale joined Holy Spirit Prep in 2006. He and his wife Denise have
four children at
Holy Spirit Prep; Matt (2009), Stephen (2012), Angela (2014) and Catherine (2016).
Their oldest son, Chris,
graduated in the Class of 2006 and is now attending Georgia Tech.
Mr. Dale is also a soccer nut. He played at the state level in England, has
coached for more than 20 years, is currently coaching a U12 girls team at the Lower School, is the past director for the Catholic Metro Soccer League in Atlanta, and is a certified coach and referee in the state of Georgia. Mr. Dale also coaches Cross Country at the Holy Spirit Prep Upper School.
Mrs. Karen Danello - Dance
Mrs. Karen Danello was born and raised in Auburn, New York. Karen's love of dance led her to pursue training as a dance instructor in her teenage years. Karen has successfully taught all types of dance for over 32 years. Ms. Danello opened On Your Toes in 1999 as a means to introduce dance into after-school programs. On Your Toes has been offering dance classes to all three Holy Spirit Prep campuses since 2000. Karen also teaches the dance elective course at the Upper School, is the cheerleading coach for the football and basketball squads, and teaches after school dance classes at the Lower School and Preschool. She has choreographed two musicals for the Upper School, The Sound of Music and Guys and Dolls. Mrs. Danello is also a Certified Pilates Instructor and Aerobics Instructor. Mrs. Danello and her husband are members of the Cathedral of Christ the King.
Mrs. Kara DeFilippi - English Department Chair;
English
Mrs. DeFilippi holds a BA in English Language and Literature and a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Virginia. While at UVA, Mrs. DeFilippi competed on the women's rowing team where she won two NCAA national championships. Prior to joining Holy Spirit Prep for the spring 2005 semester, Mrs. DeFilippi taught at the Munich International School and in Albemarle County, Virginia; and served as the assistant rowing coach at UVA. Mrs. DeFilippi is also a reader for the essay portion of the SAT. Mrs. DeFilippi enjoys coaching the girls’ junior high soccer team at Holy Spirit Prep.
Dr. Richard L.S. Evans - Classics Department
Chair; Latin and Greek
Dr. Richard L.S. Evans holds a B.A. in Latin, Greek & Ancient
History from the University of South Carolina;
he was a regular member of the American School
of Classical Studies at Athens in 1974-75 where he studied classical archaeology, later earning an M.A.
in Classical Greek and M.Phil. in Classics from
Columbia University in City of New York, and a
Ph.D. in Comparative Literature with an emphasis
in Greek, Latin and early English from the
University of South Carolina with a dissertation entitled
From Greek and Latin to the Old English Orosius. Dr. Evans is developing a forthcoming book on the same topic, based on an expansion of his dissertation research. Dr. Evans brings
28 years teaching experience in a variety of
university and school environments, including Brooklyn College in New York, the University of Malawi and the University of the Americas in Mexico City; 22
publications, ranging from articles on Xenophon and Ennius in the
Dictionary of Literary Biography to several widely disseminated essays on the teaching of Classical Greek,
www.txclassics.org/greek.htm, and a wide array of academic presentations, support his professional background.
Dr. Evans has a strong interest
in the study, teaching and promotion of ancient Greek and Latin all levels, but especially in Catholic education where the seeds of theological, apologetic and priestly vocations are cultivated for the future benefit of the Catholic Faith.
Ms. Polly Garcia
- Spanish
Ms. Garcia holds a BFA from The University of the Arts,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; MA from The
University of Kentucky, Lexington; and has been
certified for teaching in a foreign language by
The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign
Languages. She was born in Atlanta and moved to
Caracas, Venezuela at the age of five months.
While living in Caracas, she attended Los
Campitos School and volunteered with her family
for the Little Sisters of Mother Teresa and the
Children’s Service League. Ms. Garcia’s family
returned to the Atlanta in 1993. While earning
her masters in Lexington, she studied with the
Graduate Spanish Department of the University of
Kentucky, was invited to direct for the Foreign
Language Conference, and was artistic director,
co-creator, and grant writer of a nationally
acclaimed bi-lingual theatre company/newspaper.
Ms. Garcia has directed and acted for the stage
in New York, Philadelphia, Lexington, and
Atlanta. She loves to teach, travel, write
plays, and is currently editing a multicultural
documentary about global identity. This is Ms.
Garcia’s fifth year as an educator and first
year teaching Spanish for Holy Spirit
Preparatory School.
Mr. Jeremy Gibson
- Upper School Director of Music
Mr. Gibson earned his B.M. in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2002. While at UT, Mr. Gibson performed in the prestigious Wind Ensemble, and marched in the Pride of the Southland marching band. Upon graduation, Mr. Gibson went on to work in public schools. He has held band director positions at Jellico Elementary & High Schools, Ross N. Robinson Middle School, and Ketron

Mr.
Gibson
moved
to
Atlanta
and
joined
the
Holy
Spirit
Prep
faculty
in
the
Fall
of
2006.
This
year,
he
will
be
teaching
Music
Theory
I,
II,
and
AP
Music
Theory
courses
to
interested
high
school
students.
Junior
high
school
students
will
see
Mr.
Gibson
within
their
Lyceum
Music
modules.
Mr.
Gibson
also
instructs
the
Instrumental
Music
program
at
HSP.
The
Instrumental
Music
program
allows
for
students
of
all
instrument
areas
to
perform
together
in
an
ensemble
setting.
These
ensembles
will
play
at
athletic
events,
school
functions,
concerts,
and
more.
In
addition
to
his
musical
responsibilities,
Mr.
Gibson
is
teaching
an
"Intro
to
Mac"
course
this
year
for
all
high
school
students
who
own
and
wish
to
learn
more
about
Apple
computers.
Currently,
Mr.
Gibson
is
pursuing
his
M.Ed.
in
Curriculum
and
Instruction,
with
a
Technology
emphasis
at
Grand
Canyon
University.
He
recently
moved
to
Marietta,
where
he
resides
with
his puppy, Miho. Away from the classroom, Mr. Gibson is an avid traveler. He has visited 37 of the 50 states (including Hawaii), eastern and western Canada, many islands in the Caribbean, and most recently to New Zealand. He looks to travel to Europe in 2008.
Mr. Reginald Haley - Live Audio & Recording Technology
Mr. Haley attended the Center for Creative Studies College in Detroit, Michigan where he majored in Music and minored Fine Art. Mr. Haley moved to California in 1998 and began a career in entertainment. Mr. Haley had a role on Nash Bridges, performed extra roles in movies, and worked in commercials. Mr. Haley also has extensive experience in the music industry. He owned and operated Diversity Records, an Indie Record label and Music Production Group. Diversity Records developed and wrote for artists such as: Latoya London (American Idol 3rd place), Rosie Gaines co-writer and performer of the song "Diamonds & Pearls" featuring Prince, Santana. Mr. Haley also worked as a sound mixer/editor for the motion picture "Julie & Jack" and co-produced the Annual California Music Awards. Mr. Haley is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers. Mr. Haley and his wife Samantha moved to Atlanta in 2004 and they have two children. His son, Reggie, is in the Holy Spirit Prep Class of 2019.
Ms.
Meg Hunter-Kilmer - Campus Ministry; Religion
Ms. Hunter-Kilmer is originally from Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, DC. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theology with a minor in Italian and a Master’s in Theological Studies, both from the University of Notre Dame. She is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she sings in the choir. Ms. Hunter-Kilmer is very excited to be spreading the love of Christ through teaching religion and working in campus ministry.
Ms.
Joy Kenyon - Dean of Student Life; Mathematics
Ms. Kenyon holds a BA with Honors in Business Studies with a
major in Finance and Marketing from John Moore
University in Liverpool. Additionally, Ms.
Kenyon earned a Post Graduate Certificate in
Secondary Math Education (PGCE) from Greenwich
University, London and a MA in Education from
the Institute of Education, London University.
She has passed the Praxis 1 and is currently
preparing to pursue desire to enter the PhD
Education program at Emory. Ms. Kenyon has 12
years of teaching experience and she was a Math
curriculum writer for the National Consortium
for Education in 2004-2005 and Children’s
Restoration Network, a Georgia based charity
providing academic support for young people in
shelters. She is a member of the UK Mathematics
Association, a recipient of the British
government’s Department of Education Best
Practice Bursary for masters research on
motivation, a Southwark Education Best Practice
working party member and a Member of the
National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Ms.
Kenyon joined Holy Spirit Prep in 2005.
Ms. Claudette LeBlanc
- Mathematics
Ms. Claudette LeBlanc holds a BBA in International Business and Latin American Studies with a minor in Spanish from Loyola University, New Orleans. Ms. LeBlanc is a specialist in standardized testing, having worked for The Princeton Review for the past seven years. During that time, she trained all of The Clinton Foundation teachers, was a contributing author to The Princeton Review Press ACT study guides, and sat on the Development Team for a new course targeted at gifted and talented students. After spending so much time with high-schoolers, Ms. LeBlanc decided to pursue a teaching career in South Oak Cliff, Texas, at Bishop Dunne Catholic School, where she taught the past three years.
Ms. LeBlanc joined Holy Spirit Prep in 2007 and
she is delighted to be teaching geometry and pre-calculus and
she also looks forward to providing ACT/SAT/PSAT strategy sessions to the Upper School students.
Dr. Del Kiernan-Lewis - Dean of
Interdisciplinary Studies; Philosophy Department
Chair
Dr. Kiernan-Lewis received the M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy with a minor in History of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Georgia. He has over two decades of college teaching experience, including positions at UCLA, William and Mary, and Georgia Tech. Before coming to Holy Spirit Prep, Dr. Kiernan-Lewis was Executive Director of the University of Florida College of Medicine HIV clinic for women and children. His special interests include the the relationship between faith and reason and between science and religion. He has published numerous articles and the textbook
Learning to Philosophize (Wadsworth, 2001). This academic year, Dr. Kiernan-Lewis is teaching Modern Western Civilization, World History, History of Ancient and Medieval Philosophy, and History of Modern Philosophy. He directs Holy Spirit Prep's classical interdisciplinary Lyceum program and also teaches Latin in the program. Dr. Kiernan-Lewis is the faculty sponsor of the Chess Club, the Birding and Amateur Naturalist Club, and the Peripatetic Club. He and his wife Susan have a son in
the Holy Spirit Prep Class of 2012.
Mr.
David Labbe - English
Mr. Labbe holds a B.A. in Literature from the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts, Merrimack, New Hampshire, and an M.S. in Teaching from the State University of New York, Potsdam, New York. Prior to joining Holy Spirit Prep, Mr. Labbe taught 7th – 12th grade English, Drama, Health, and Physical Education at St. Clement’s High School, 7th grade English at Blossom Park High School, and 12th grade English at Immaculata High School in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. In addition, he is a third degree member of The Knights of Columbus, and maintains a membership with Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in Education. Mr. Labbe, his wife, Emily, and son, Norman (Class of ’24), are pleased to be a part of the Holy Spirit
Prep community.
Mrs.
Leanne Lee - Dean of Seniors; Science Department Chair; Mathematics and Science
Mrs. Lee holds a BS in Chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MS in Chemistry from Georgia State University. She was a United States swimmer with Swim Atlanta for 15 years and also coached summer swim league. While at GSU, Mrs. Lee served as a teaching assistant for two years and as a lab instructor for freshman level laboratories. Prior to joining Holy Spirit Prep, Mrs. Lee worked in the Gwinnett County Public School System as a substitute teacher for three years. In addition to chairing the Mathematics Department and teaching, Mrs. Lee is very involved with RCIA at St. John Neumann Church.
Ms. Helene Mengert - Performing Arts Department Chair
Ms. Mengert holds an M.A. in English from the University of Georgia and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. Ms Mengert was Drama Department Head at Lakeview Academy in Gainesville, Georgia and then returned to Atlanta to teach English and direct plays at The Lovett School. Under her direction, the One-Act Play entry at these schools won three Region Championships and a second place State title – with a Best Actress and three Best Actor Awards. Ms. Mengert also coordinated the Junior High Drama Program at Pace Academy and directed its drama productions and musicals. She has taught drama classes for the Pace Summer Theater Workshop for many years. With her sister, Caroline Kulinski, Ms. Mengert also runs Triple Threat Theatre. On the business side of non-profit administration, Ms. Mengert worked as a capital campaign manager for Coxe Curry & Associates and a major events manager for The City of Hope, a biomedical research center. She joined Holy Spirit Prep in 2006.
Dr. Wayne R. Matson - Chair, Aerospace Science and Mathematics
Dr. Matson received his Doctorate in Higher Education from Oklahoma State University; his Masters degree from Northern Arizona University; and his Bachelor’s in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Matson has 50+ years of teaching and administrative experience at all levels of education. He has delivered hundreds of lectures in the US and around the world, has visited hundreds of schools throughout the US, and has traveled in more than 100 countries. He retired in 1996, after 20 years as President of the Aerospace Education Association. He has written/edited more than 1000 articles and over 50 books and served as Editor-in Chief of three major magazines. He, also, is a commercial pilot, flight instructor (CFII), sailboat captain and a graduate of astronaut training. The American Space Program (NASA) paid for his Doctorate and the Russian Space Program paid for his astronaut training. Russia’s Chief Executive for Space Affairs said, “ No one has done more to bring about the new era of space cooperation between Russia and America than Dr. Matson.” Dr. Matson holds every US pilot’s license, except one, and has been the Chief Flight Instructor for a major university. Dr. Matson finds “aviation and space to be the greatest motivating medium to teach all academic subjects.” He reflects on how much the world has changed from 1903, the year the Wright Brothers made their famous first flight, to 1969, the year we landed on the moon, and keeps this in mind as "I design the curriculum and help educate our students for the future.”
Mr. Brian Moscona - Religion
Mr. Brian Moscona was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and attended high school in Baton Rouge. He then studied Marketing and Public Policy at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. After graduation, Mr. Moscona participated in a two-year teaching program through Notre Dame called the Alliance for Catholic Education. In the ACE program he taught fourth grade in Los Angeles, CA and earned a Masters Degree in elementary education. Mr. Moscona then spent a year discerning a vocation to religious life with the priests and brothers in the Congregation of Holy Cross at Notre Dame. He then returned to Los Angeles to resume teaching fourth grade. Mr. Moscona is extremely excited to return home to the south, and he feels blessed to have the opportunity to join the community at Holy Spirit Prep.
Ms. Jennifer H. Murphy, J.D.
- Mathematics
Ms. Murphy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas and a Juris
Doctorate from the University or Arkansas School of Law. Prior to joining Holy Spirit Prep in 2007, Ms. Murphy taught Pre-Algebra at the Lovett School. She is a registered Neutral with Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution, a Ministry Leader for Buckhead Christian Ministry, and a Parishioner at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Mr. Lewis Murray- Student Success
Team
Mr. Murray is a native of Alabama who attended the University of Georgia and Emory University studying Psychology. He has extensive experience working in mental health in several hospitals in the Atlanta area, working with adults, teens, and children. He has been a program manager of an adolescent substance abuse unit. For the five years prior to joining the staff at Holy Spirit
Preparatory School in 2006 he worked at a public elementary school in the Resource program. He has two sons attending Holy Spirit Prep in the Class of 2009 and 2011. After several years of exposure and involvement with the school through his sons’ attendance, he felt a strong desire to work at the school and be a part of what he recognized as a truly excellent environment. Mr. Murray works in both the Lower School and the Upper School as a member of the Student Success Team. His special interests and pursuits are creating artwork, reading in history and current events, raising several Boston Terriers. A new pursuit will be learning how to work on an antique MG roadster.
Mr. Michael Petrauskis - Mathematics and Physics
Mr. Petrauskis is a graduate of the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE), a Master of Education program administered by the University of Notre Dame incorporating two years of service as a teacher in an under-resourced Catholic school in the South. Previous to that, he graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After teaching upper-division math and physics at St. John High School in Gulfport, MS, Mr. Petrauskis moved back to his home state of Illinois where he taught physics at Crystal Lake South High School, a public school in the far western suburbs of Chicago. Mr. Petrauskis was honored with the Mississippi Economic Council STAR Teacher Award in 2005.
Mrs.
Helen Prieto - Dean of Faculty; Chair of Modern Languages
Mrs. Prieto holds a BS in Business Administration from Barry University, Miami Shores, Florida; and MBA from Nova Southeastern University, Sunrise, Florida; and a Master's Certificate in International Business from Columbia University, New York City. She and her husband moved to Atlanta from Florida in 1995 and are parishioners at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Prior to joining Holy Spirit Prep in 2002, Mrs. Prieto retired from a 38-year career with BellSouth, where she served as Vice President in International Markets and Vice President of Customer Operations, and during which time she also trained adults in business environment skills and marketing and customer service. Currently, Mrs. Prieto is a member of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, she has been certified by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, and has a Certificate from the College Board to teach Advanced Placement Spanish.
Mr.
Pete Radosta - Dean of Boys; English
Mr. Radosta was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and moved to
Atlanta as a young child. He was raised in
Stone Mountain and attended the University of
Georgia and Georgia State University. He
graduated with honors from Georgia State in 1995
and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English,
minoring in Educational Psychology. After
many years as a product manager in corporate
America, he came to Holy Spirit Prep in 2004 to
pursue his long-postponed dream of teaching.
In addition to teaching, Mr. Radosta is looking
forward to his new role as Dean of Boys.
Mr. Radosta also coaches the girls’ and boys’
varsity soccer teams. Mr. Radosta and his wife,
Bridget, live in Alpharetta with their three
children: Megan, Holy Spirit Prep Class of
2015, John, Holy Spirit Prep Class of 2017, and
Patrick, who is two and looks forward to
becoming an official “preppie” in the
not-so-distant future.
Mr.
Matthew Reger - Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Organic Chemistry
Mr. Reger is originally from Rochester, New York, but he attended high school at St. Pius X in Atlanta, where he graduated as the valedictorian of the class of 1997. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Georgia Tech, where he received several awards and scholarships, including the Chemical Rubber Company Chemistry Award (1998), the Peter B. Sherry Scholarship (1999), the American Institute of Chemists Award (2000), and the Hypercube Scholar Award (2001). He has worked in several organic chemistry research laboratories at Georgia Tech and Princeton University, and he has teaching experience in Chemistry, Advanced Placement Chemistry, and Algebra. Mr. Reger also holds a Master of Theological Studies degree from the University of Notre Dame. While at Notre Dame, he was a member of the Notre Dame Graduate Theological Society and the international Society of Biblical Literature. Mr. Reger and his wife (who works in the Lower School) joined the Holy Spirit community in 2007. They attend Holy Spirit Church, where they were married in 2005.
Ms.
Rochelle Rombalski - Studio Art and
Photography
Ms. Rombalski joined Holy Spirit Prep in 2005. She holds a BA
in Studio Art/ Photography and a minor in
Technical Theater and Acting from Columbia
College. She also studied Visual Communications
at American Intercontinental University and has
completed masters work in Outdoor Education at
Georgia College and State University. Ms.
Rombalski is currently taking post-baccalaureate
courses at SCAD-Atlanta.
Previously, Ms. Rombalski taught kindergarten
through ninth grade art at the Mable House Arts
Center. Ms. Rombalski is a certified APA
Professional Archer, a certified canoe/kayak
instructor, a swift water rescuer and a Top Rope
climbing instructor.
Mr. Jeff Rumiano - English
Mr. Rumiano comes to Holy Spirit with a B.A. in English from the University of Georgia and an M.A. in English from Georgia State University. He currently is working on his Ph.D. in English at Georgia State University. An avid reader of poetry, Mr. Rumiano
hopes to help students realize the importance
and beauty of the genre. A parish member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for the last 22 years, Mr. Rumiano
has lived his entire life in Georgia.
Dr. Scott Schreiber - Classics Department; Greek, Latin, and Ancient History
Dr. Schreiber holds B.A. degrees in Religion from Davidson College and in Philosophy from Cambridge University in England. He has M.A.’s in Philosophy from both Cambridge University and the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Chicago. Before embarking on his teaching career, Dr. Schreiber spent four years as an intelligence officer and cryptologist in Europe for the National Security Agency, and five years as a Benedictine monk in New Hampshire. He has taught at St. Anselm College, The Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Chicago. From 1993-2004, Dr. Schreiber was Professor of Philosophy and Director of Classics at St. Norbert College (Wisconsin). In 2004-2006, Dr. Schreiber served as Headmaster of Mount Carmel Academy, an independent classical Catholic K-12 school in Green Bay, WI. Dr. Schreiber’s first love is ancient Greek philosophy, and he has published articles in a wide range of philosophical journals. In 2003, the State University of New York (SUNY) Press published his book: “Aristotle on False Reasoning: Language and the World in the
Sophistical Refutations.”
Mrs. Ericka Schultz - English and Journalism
Mrs. Schultz came to Holy Spirit Prep in 2006 from Rocky River High School in Ohio, where she taught sophomore English and Broadcast Journalism as well as moderated the Creative Writing Club and coordinated the student literary journal. Mrs. Schultz has a B.A. in English and an M.Ed from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. The two loves of her life are her UGA Math-Ed doctoral student husband and her beagle, Molly. Her interests include musical theatre and writing. While in Ohio, she enjoyed performing in local theatre productions, and she is currently working on writing her first novel. Last year, Mrs. Schultz enjoyed teaching 5th and 6th grade Language Arts at the Lower School. She looks forward to joining the Upper School Faculty this year.
Mr.
Mike Sickafoose- Athletic Director; Athletics and Health Department
Chair; Physical Education
Mr. Sickafoose returns for his fifth year at The Holy Spirit Preparatory School as athletic director. Having earned a Bachelor of Science from Ashland University, Ashland, Ohio (Major in PE, Minor in Health) and a Master of Arts in Education from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky, he has over 19 years experience as a coach/physical education instructor at elementary, middle, and college levels with a focus on basketball and tennis. During his time at Ashland University, Coach Sickafoose played three years on the varsity squad, two-years of which he was a starter. Coach Sickafoose was recently honored for the New Haven High School Hall of Fame, in New Haven, Indiana, for earning nine letters which consisted of basketball, track and tennis. He also was honored for the Cumberland College Hall of Fame for the 1984-85 basketball season. In his role as the assistant coach, at Cumberland College, he helped lead the team to a winning record of 33-2. For professional development, Coach Sickafoose has attended yearly coaching clinics and conferences at the NAIA and NCAA levels as well as training classes in the areas of personal development and clinics to enhance his computer skills. Coach Sickafoose lives in Cobb County with his wife, Kelly, and his three sons - two of which attend The Holy Spirit Preparatory School. Coach Sickafoose and his family are parishioners at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He looks forward to the development of the high school athletics program and the expansion of the Holy Spirit Preparatory sports program.

Luke Slonkosky - History and Geography
Mr. Slonkosky recently moved to Atlanta after working for the high school retreat summer program Notre Dame Vision. Before working for ND Vision,
Mr. Slonkosky worked with the Youth Group, RCIA, and various other adult formation programs at St. Andrew’s Parish in Fort Worth, TX. He received a Master of Arts in Theology from Notre Dame where he also earned his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Philosophy. He has taught in different capacities for short periods of time at the junior and senior high school level for the past three years both at parishes and catholic high schools.
Mr. Slonkosky joined Holy Spirit Prep in 2007
and is currently teaching 7th grade World History, 8th grade World Geography, and AP European History.
Ms. Jill Stedman - Social Studies Department Chair
Ms. Stedman holds a B.A. in Political Science from the American University and an M.S. in Education with a concentration in Instructional Technology from the Johns Hopkins University. In 2006, she completed a post-Master’s certificate program in School Administration and Supervision at the Johns Hopkins University. Prior to coming to Holy Spirit Prep, Ms. Stedman taught Social Studies and technology courses at the Georgetown Preparatory School in Bethesda, MD. Ms. Stedman also coached the Georgetown Preparatory School’s Speech & Debate team and is an active member of the National Catholic Forensics League. Ms. Stedman joined Holy Spirit Prep in 2007.
Dr. Linda Thomas-Mobley - Math and Architecture
Dr. Linda Thomas-Mobley, a former Naval Officer and an Army brat, is a native of Washington DC and has been teaching post-secondary education for ten years. She has earned a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering, a Juris Doctorate and a Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture. She currently holds an academic appointment at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the College of Architecture. Her research focuses on the law, the built environment and the effect poor indoor environments have on occupants. She was recently selected to serve on the National Academy of Science’s Immune Building Committee, which investigates approaches to mitigate chemical and biological attacks on military buildings. At Holy Spirit Prep, Dr. Mobley teaches Honors Calculus and a pilot course, developed with grant funding, entitled “An Introduction to the Built Environment”. She is the Commanding Officer of the Navy League Unit at the school. Her daughter is in the Class of 2008.
Ms. Heather Triggs - Religion
Ms. Triggs holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and a Master Degree and “Specialist” designation in Education with specializations in Guidance and Counseling from the State University of West Georgia and is currently pursuing a Master of Theological Studies. Ms. Triggs is a licensed professional counselor and has twelve years of experience counseling children, adolescents, and their families. In addition to teaching at Holy Spirit Prep, Ms. Triggs is also the Director of Religious Education and Youth Ministry at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Ms. Triggs has been active in teen ministry for 10 years and currently runs two discernment groups for the Vocations Office of the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
Mrs. Linda Verlander- Campus Ministry; Religion
Mrs. Verlander holds a B.A. in Literature from the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts, Merrimack, New Hampshire, and an M.A. in English from The University of Dallas, Irving, Texas. Prior to joining the Religious Education and Theology Department in 2006, Mrs. Verlander taught 7th, 9th, 11th & 12th grade English at Holy Spirit Prep. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Verlander serves as the faculty sponsor for the Yearbook committee. She and her husband, Michael, are parishioners at Holy Spirit Church.

Michael Verlander - Dean of Houses; Religious Education and Theology Department
Chair
Mr. Verlander is a native of Atlanta and the youngest of eight children. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts, Merrimack, New Hampshire. In college, he spent a semester of his sophomore year in Rome, Italy, during which time his studies focused on Christian theology, art and architecture. Mr. Verlander has taught catechesis at St. Thomas More Church and at Holy Spirit Church, where he and his wife, Linda, are active parishioners. Currently he is pursuing an M.A. in Theology at International Catholic University, maintains memberships with the Canon Law Society and the American Chesterton Society, and is a founding member of the Atlanta Chesterton Society. In addition to chairing the Religious Education and Theology Department and teaching, Mr. Verlander coaches basketball and golf, serves as Trent’s House Master, heads the Chess Club, the Xavier Club, and serves as the faculty sponsor for the school’s Habitat for Humanity committee.
Mrs.
Molly Walker - Director of Institutional Technology; Technology & Computer Science Department Chair
Mrs. Walker joined Holy Spirit Prep in 2005. She and her husband, Jimmy, are native Atlantans.
Mrs. Walker attended St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School, The Marist School and graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems. Prior to joining Holy Spirit Prep, Mrs. Walker was an International Marketing CRM Manager for UPS. During her corporate career, Mrs. Walker was involved in systems development as well as various other technology training and education responsibilities.
At Holy Spirit Prep, Mrs. Walker is the
Webmaster and she manages various
technology-related projects. Additionally, she oversees the technology and computer science curriculum
and has taught programming and robotics courses
at the Upper School. She is excited to now be working with young people in the field of technology and helping Holy Spirit Prep get the most out of its tremendous technology resources.
