Student Life
Our faith and academics are at the heart of our school and yet, age appropriate
athletic and extra-curricula opportunities abound:
Lower School- As grade appropriate, intra-murals or inter-school competition are offered
in Basketball, Golf, Soccer and Tennis while club activities include Altar Servers,
Art, Astronomy, Ballet, spirit-Cheerleading, Chess and Karate. Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops are active in all grades. Theatrical and
performing arts are a tradition in our Lower School with performances that have
drawn acclaim from our audiences and brought great credit upon our talented faculty
and students. Community service is a key component of our program with opportunities
for service designed into our school day and throughout the school year.
Upper School- Offered sports include Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross-Country, Football,
Golf, Horse Riding, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field and
Volleyball. Offered clubs include Altar Server's Club, Astronomy, Band(s), Ceramics,
Chess, Film, Journalism, Latin, Meteorology, Mountain Biking, Sailing, One-Act
Plays, Photography, Radio Holy Sprit, Rowing, Scuba Diving, Sculpture, Xavier
Club and Yearbook. Formal socials and dances are supplemented by less formal opportunities
for supervised social interaction such as simple movie and pizza evenings held
in our own coffee shop or student commons. While Community Service continues to
have a key role in the life of our Upper School it is joined by a commitment to
School Service, a concept whereby each student has an obligation to devote their
time and talents to the service of the school in a defined role, perhaps as a
library aide, laboratory technician or pre-school aide. |
