HSP SUMMER STOCK THEATRE
EXPERIENCE - APPLY NOW! Attention rising 7th graders and above:
the HSP Summer Stock Theatre opens its doors in June 2008. This
program is modeled on Regional Summer Stock Repertory Theatre. Alumni will
perform along side current drama students in the American classic, “Our
Town,” written by Thornton Wilder. Together with Triple
Threat Theatre, friends, neighbors, and members of the
community will be invited to share in this enriching and exciting summer
experience. Acceptance is limited to the number of roles in “Our
Town”, so apply early.

HSPS STUDENT
QUALIFIES FOR STATE GEOGRAPHY BEE
Congratulations to seventh grader J.P. Smith
who qualified for the state level National Geographic Geography Bee
competition in Milledgeville on April 4. After winning this
year's HSPS National Geographic Bee, he took a written geography test to qualify
for state. This
is JP's second time qualifying for the state level in this
competition. Best of luck in the state competition!

GREAT RESULTS IN
STATE LITERARY COMPETITION
Update: The
HSPS Upper School students performed very well at the State Literary
Competition on March 11th at Valdosta State University. The
following students earned the following places:
Chris Opperman - 2nd place, Spelling
Blair Brown - 2nd place, Girls Argumentative Essay Writing
Meg Livermore - tied 3rd place, International Extemp. Speaking
Brendan Boyle - 4th place, Boys Argumentative Essay Writing
Congratulations to these students for these great
accomplishments and also to those who did so well in the regional Literary Competition. The
regional results for HSP students are as follows: Mike Shaw - tied for first in Humorous Interpretation Janie Janeczko - 3rd place domestic extemp.

CONCERT FUNDRAISER FOR PROJECT ZAMBIA
Come enjoy music from our own talented HSPS students at this great
event to raise money for Project Zambia. The concert is
Friday, April 4 from 7 - 9 p.m. in the Upper School Gym. The
cost is $10 and concessions will be available. This year, the Lower School
is supporting a special service project, the Zambia Project.

GISA STATE SPELLING BEE!
Congratulations
to eighth grader Todd Jones for winning the 2008
Georgia Independent School Association Middle School Spelling Bee.
In addition to his impressive win this year, Todd also won the
Georgia Independent School Association Middle School Spelling Bee last
year (2007) as well. Todd will now go on to compete in the GAE / Atlanta
Daily World State Spelling Bee Competition on March 21st in Atlanta.

semi-finalist winners in the Archdiocesan Martin Luther King, Jr.

ZAMBIA SERVICE PROJECT
FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES
This year, the Lower School is supporting a special service project,
the Zambia Project. Students hold special fundraising and awareness
events for the project throughout the year. Starting Feb. 4, students
are encouraged to bring their disposable change for Project Zambia. The change can be brought to school on any day of the week. In addition,
Chick-Fil-A chicken biscuits will be sold every Wednesday morning during Lent, with all profits going to this project. The chicken biscuits must be purchased ahead of time using
this form. The orders and money for biscuits can be turned in to your child’s homeroom teacher.
