Cost Per Child: $95.00 (uniforms are included in the cost)
About the league: Emphasis of the league will be to introduce the basic rules, good sportsmanship and skills of basketball for children in Kindergarten through Second grade.
The first 20 minutes of each session will concentrate on skills and rules. Then the players will play a game with four 5 minutes running quarters.
The league will be committed to make sure all players receive equal playing time during games and coaches will be emphasizing skills, rules and sportsmanship and not winning at all cost. Coaches will stay on the floor during games and will provide instruction and officiating. Goals will be set at eight foot for Kindergarten and 1st grade and we will use a size 27.5 ball for games and practice. Goals will be at 9 feet for 2nd grade.
Introduction and Evaluations: On Sunday Nov. 14th we will conduct evaluations of players to determine team assignments. The total number of participants will determine team size and number of teams. Maximum team size will be 9 players. Teams will start on the hour with Kindergarten/Pre1st playing at 1 p.m., 1st grade at 2 p.m., 2nd grade at 3 p.m. Team assignments will be determined and distributed after the evaluation day.
