How you can contribute to the School and not spend your
own money. Simply give to the School instead of the State!

WHAT IS THE GOAL SCHOLARSHIP?

In 2008, the State of Georgia passed HB 1133, allowing Georgia taxpayers to receive a state income tax credit for amounts contributed to qualified student scholarship organizations, such as the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program. Under the new law, married couples can receive a tax credit of up to $2,500, individuals up to $1,000, and corporations up to 75% of their total Georgia tax liability. It is important to note that a tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in taxes you owe, so every dollar you give, up to the limit, is a dollar less in tax you have to pay. It is really like re-directing your tax dollars from the Georgia Department of Revenue to GOAL. In addition, contributions to GOAL are deductible for federal income tax purposes. So by participating you get the opportunity to help Holy Spirit families, tell Georgia where to spend your tax dollars, get a state tax credit and a federal tax deduction at the same time…and you do it all simply by re-directing tax dollars you already have to pay! Read more about this fantastic program from Financial Planner and Parent Matt Russell.

3 Simple Steps: TO A 100% TAX CREDIT!

1. Fill out the Contribution Form and sign part C of the IT- QEE-TP1.

2. If not paying via credit card, make your check payable to “GOAL Scholarship.”

3. Mail back your Check (if not paying by credit card), Contribution Form, and signed IT- QEE-TP1 to Liz Winkler 4449 Northside Drive Atlanta, GA 30327.

When you file your income tax returns in 2011, you will receive a credit against your Georgia income taxes for the amount of your contribution and a charitable deduction on your federal income taxes. You may still file your returns electronically if you elect to take this credit.

  • GOAL will send you a Form IT-QEE-SSO1 contribution acknowledgment form to be filed with your taxes

  • GOAL will send taxpayer filing guidance early next year and/or will post taxpayer filing guidance on its website
