Upper School Principal Mrs. Sotomayor explains her approach to high school formation, and her hopes for her students.

A Catholic Formation

In order to be successful in life, people need to know and love God. Following and believing in God will lead to the truth, which will in return lead you to a life of joy and fulfillment. The lifelong pilgrimage of seeking the truth, especially through the eyes of a teenager, could seem intimidating. One of the reasons for Catholic education is to hold our students by the hand to help them discover the beauty of living a true Catholic life. Like John Paul II said, "the contemporary world urgently needs the service of educational institutions which uphold and teach that truth is 'that fundamental value without which freedom, justice and human dignity are extinguished' (Veritatis splendor, n. 4). When our students graduate from Holy Spirit Prep, they will have developed a personal relationship with God which will become their compass as they discover their place in this world.

Olivia's Story

A Classically-Inspired Curriculum

The Upper School at Holy Spirit Prep proudly offers a curriculum that is classically-inspired and authentically Catholic for students from seventh to twelfth grades. Our students are exposed to a variety of experiences, both inside and outside the classroom, that allows them to develop a better understanding of the world and their surroundings. By provoking our students to think critically, they learn to not conform to the ways of the world but to always remember how their Catholic faith is and should be part of every step they take in life. We understand that parents are the primary educator in their child's life and our job is to partner with them to help students become intellectually advanced while strongly rooted in their faith.
