About Mr. Pietrantonio
A product of Catholic education, Mr. Pietrantonio grew up in central Connecticut. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University in the nation’s capital with a degree in classics, medieval studies, and theology. In Washington, DC, Mr. Pietrantonio began his career in education by teaching and tutoring elementary, middle, and high school students in some of our country’s most impoverished neighborhoods. Realizing the transformative power of reaching and teaching young people, Mr. Pietrantonio wanted to further his own education and enrolled in the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education. There, he received his Master’s in Secondary Education summa cum laude and then taught in a Catholic school in Mobile, Alabama. A desire to teach the classics in an unabashedly Catholic school led him to Holy Spirit Prep in 2005. Since then, he has assumed a variety of roles at the school including Director of Community Service, Principal of the Junior High School, Lower School Principal, and Associate Head of School. In February 2013, the Board of Trustees selected Mr. Pietrantonio as Head of School. During his tenure at the school, Mr. Pietrantonio has completed his doctoral coursework in educational leadership and policy studies at The Catholic University of America and has participated in various programs including the E.E. Ford Fellowship sponsored by the National Association of Independent Schools, Leadership Sandy Springs, and the Catholic Charities Atlanta Leadership program. In 2012, he was honored by the University of Notre Dame with The Michael Pressley Award for Excellence in Catholic Education. He and his wife, Meghan, have one daughter, Cora, and one son, Evan, and they are active parishioners at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
